Ara derailment: Warning ignored, rules bypassed? Railway Board had flagged the issue 2 weeks earlier, yet officials deployed crew without proper route learning

Ara derailment: The loco pilot of the Delhi-bound Sikkim Mahananda Express, which derailed at Bihars Ara Junction on September 7, had reportedly not completed the required route learning, according to railway records. The preliminary investigation found that the crew initially overshot a red signal before reversing the train, during which it derailed. The Railway Board had warned zones about such violations days before the incident.
