A squirrels ancient food stash buried deep beneath Siberian permafrost has given scientists a rare glimpse into the Ice Age. The fruits remained frozen for around 31,800 years before researchers discovered a way to use preserved tissue from them to grow living plants, revealing how long some biological material can survive under extreme conditions.
