UPI MDR adds to retailers margin pressure this festive season

The introduction of a 0.4% fee on UPI transactions above 2,000 is shrinking shopkeepers' net profits right before the peak festival shopping period. While large stores plan to absorb the cost or split bills, trade groups warn small retailers may reduce discounts or favour cash payments.
