Sessions Court acquits Sanjay Raut in defamation case filed by BJP leader Somaiya's wife

A Mumbai court has acquitted Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut in a defamation case. Medha Somaiya, wife of BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, had filed the case. She accused Raut of making baseless allegations regarding a Rs 100 crore scam. A magistrate court had previously convicted Raut. The sessions court allowed Raut's appeal, overturning the earlier ruling.
