Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act to come into force on Oct 1

New regulations for delayed birth and death registrations will begin on October 1, 2026. This law requires judicial intervention for registrations filed over two years late. Applications between one and two years will need executive magistrate approval. The government aims to encourage timely reporting of vital life events.
