Calcutta High Court declines interim resumption of prayers at mosque inside Kolkata airport

The Calcutta High Court has adjourned the case regarding prayers at Bankra Mosque until October 7. The mosque predates the airport, which started operations in 1924, and had allowed access for many years. Access to the mosque was stopped on July 11, raising concerns for local worshippers. The Airports Authority of India noted recent security breaches around the area of the mosque.
