Warren Buffett steps down as Berkshire Hathaway chairman, named chairman emeritus

Warren Buffett has stepped down as Berkshire Hathaway chairman, effective immediately. He will now serve as chairman emeritus, retaining board membership and advisory roles. Howard Buffett, a director since 1993, has been elected as the new chairman. Greg Abel continues as chief executive officer, and Susan L. Decker remains Lead Independent Director.
