Samsung India pays the price of costlier chips with a round of layoffs

Samsung India is reducing its workforce in batches. This action stems from pressure on smartphone sales and profit margins. Memory chip prices have more than doubled, impacting the business. Around eighty to one hundred executives have already been let go. Up to twenty-five percent of the sales and marketing staff may be affected.
