Global Market: Tokyo core inflation accelerates, strengthening case for September BOJ rate hike

Tokyos core inflation accelerated for a third straight month in August, strengthening expectations that the Bank of Japan could raise interest rates in September. Core CPI rose 1.8% year-on-year, slightly above forecasts, while a measure excluding fresh food and fuel climbed to 2%, adding to rate-hike pressure.
