Bangladesh will replace Indian cotton with U.S. cotton: Interim government

Information adviser Shafiqul Alam says the U.S.-Bangladesh trade deal inked on Monday is a game changer that can further open up the U.S. market for Bangladesh. In April 2025, Bangladesh restricted yarn imports from India through its land ports after bilateral ties soured. In May 2025, India imposed curbs on imports of readymade garments and other items from Bangladesh through land ports.
