Sri Sri Naisargik LLP has entered into an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding with Unique Organic Inputs to promote and scale Sri Sri Naisargik PROM, a scientifically validated Phosphate Rich Organic Manure created through a patented cold pressed technology. The agreement was formalised in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and represents a significant step towards strengthening soil health, supporting farmers and improving environmental quality across India. In the presence of Gurudev, Sri Sri Naisargik LLP and Unique Organic Inputs exchange an MoU to advance scalable production of Sri Sri Naisargik PROM in India For many years, India has relied heavily on chemical Di Ammonium Phosphate for crop nutrition. Chemical DAP is imported in large quantities, placing a substantial financial burden on national resources. A large portion of the product becomes fixed in the soil and remains unavailable to plants. This reduces efficiency and disturbs the natural balance of the soil. Continuous and long term use has contributed to altered soil pH levels, increased electrical conductivity, loss of organic carbon and a decline in microbial activity. These changes have gradually degraded soil fertility and large areas of farmland have become dependent on repeated chemical application. As yields begin to decline, farmers are required to apply increasing quantities of chemical DAP each season simply to maintain the same output. This cycle places economic pressure on farmers and contributes to long term deterioration of agricultural land, while also increasing the subsidy burden on the government and affecting national economic stability. While organic PROM products are present in the market, Sri Sri Naisargik PROM stands apart because of its manufacturing method and biological integrity. It is produced using a patented cold press technology that preserves the activity of fourteen beneficial microbial consortia added during production. No high temperature machinery, boilers or chemical accelerators are used, which ensures that the microorganisms remain alive and functional when the product is applied to fields. Many PROM products available commercially rely on heat based or rapid processes in which the beneficial microbes cannot survive. In some cases, microbes are added after processing, which does not allow them to integrate with the organic base. Sri Sri Naisargik PROM undergoes a carefully structured forty day microbial enrichment cycle that strengthens its biological quality and ensures consistent soil restoration. The product has been reviewed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, which has stated that it is an organic replacement for chemical DAP. It is also approved by the National Biodiversity Authority, confirming its scientific and ecological compliance. Sri Sri Naisargik PROM is created using desi cow dung as the primary medium, which establishes a sustainable economic pathway for gaushalas. Many gaushalas face challenges in caring for non milking cows and bulls due to limited economic value. By ensuring a consistent demand for cow dung, the initiative supports their financial stability and strengthens long term cattle care. A structured utilisation system for cow dung can also reduce the presence of stray cattle on roads, contributing positively to public safety and rural harmony. The benefits for farmers are significant. Sri Sri Naisargik PROM contributes to soil regeneration by improving soil structure, increasing organic carbon and enhancing microbial activity. These elements support stronger root development and healthier crop growth. By offering a natural source of phosphorus, the product helps restore long term fertility and reduces dependence on chemical inputs. As the product will be produced within India, its pricing and availability are expected to remain stable, enabling farmers to avoid the fluctuations associated with global fertiliser markets and imported chemical inputs. The environmental benefits are equally important. The patented cold pressed technology used for production consumes significantly less energy compared to high temperature chemical processes. Since no heat based machinery is used, the production process does not release smoke or high temperature emissions. When applied to soil, Sri Sri Naisargik PROM does not trigger harmful reactions that release toxic gases, which is a common concern with chemical fertilisers. It increases the organic carbon content of soil and supports natural carbon sequestration, contributing positively to long term climate resilience. As cow dung is processed through a controlled aerobic method, methane emissions that would otherwise escape from open accumulation in gaushalas are reduced, creating a measurable environmental benefit. The government also stands to benefit from the adoption of Sri Sri Naisargik PROM. The substantial subsidy burden associated with chemical DAP can be reduced as this product provides a lower cost organic alternative that is produced entirely within the country. Reduced dependence on imported fertilisers saves foreign exchange and contributes to greater national self reliance. A cost effective organic input allows the government to support farmers while improving economic efficiency across the fertiliser sector. The MoU between Sri Sri Naisargik LLP and Unique Organic Inputs reflects a forward looking commitment to healthier soil, more resilient farming systems and environmentally responsible agricultural practices. The partnership aims to strengthen farmers, support gaushalas and contribute to a more sustainable and self-reliant future for Indian agriculture. Sri Sri Naisargik PROM represents an effort to unite scientific innovation with natural resources in order to create long term benefits for the nations agricultural landscape.

Fake call centre targeting US citizens busted in Navi Mumbai; 20 held
THANE: Police have busted a fake call centre in Navi Mumbai, from where cyber frauds involving at least Rs 12 crore were allegedly committed mostly against US citizens, and arrested 20 persons in this connection, officials said on Thursday. The police suspect that the scale of the crime is very large and many wanted accused are involved in it. The action against this call centre, which was in operation in Turbhe area of Navi Mumbai was taken on Thursday, they said. Navi Mumbai Cyber police station and the Crime Branch took the action. The police received a tip-off on November 18 that a call centre was in operation under the guise of various bogus companies to defraud citizens. Immediately, a joint team of police conducted a raid and uncovered two distinct methods of fraud being run from there. In the first method, the employees of the call centre targeted US-based citizens through WhatsApp groups and lured them by promising high returns on stock market investments. Separately, they also targeted the American citizens by carrying out ransomware or malware attacks on their computers, an official statement said. The raid brought to light a massive scale of the financial crime, it said. The investigators found 97 persons working at the fake call centre. They also found several WhatsApp numbers and bank accounts being used by those found at the location, it added. The transactions of 71 bank accounts, details of which were sent to US citizens and others, for fraud were checked. Out of these, 61 accounts were found to have transactions worth a total of Rs 12.29 crore. Some of these bank accounts were checked on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCCRP) developed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). UN report flags Indias rising methane emissions, highlights agricultural gaps
Global Methane Status Report warns India, the worlds third-largest methane emitter, of increasing agricultural emissions and missing policy action as global levels continue to climb
India lacks policy to cut methane emissions from agriculture and livestock, says UN status report
A new United Nations assessment on global methane emissions has warned that India, already the worlds third-largest methane emitter, does not have a dedicated policy framework to reduce emissions from its biggest source: agriculture and livestock. The Global Methane Status Report highlights that Indias agricultural activities alone contribute 12% of global agricultural methane emissions, among the highest shares worldwide, largely driven by its vast livestock population and extensive rice cultivation. This is the first official status report since the Global Methane Pledge was introduced by the UN Environment Programme at COP30 According to the report, India emitted around 31 million tonnes of methane in 2020, accounting for 9% of global methane emissions. Methane, a potent heat-trapping gas, is released mainly through enteric fermentation in cattle, manure handling, and paddy cultivation under waterlogged conditions. While the assessment acknowledges that millions of Indian farmers rely on livestock and rice farming for their livelihoods, it points to a significant policy gap: Indias Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) do not specify any measures to reduce methane from agriculture, even though it is the countrys largest source of methane emissions. The report identifies India as a major global hotspot for crop residue burning, a significant contributor to methane emissions. Alongside China, South Korea and Southeast Asian nations, India continues to witness an increase in stubble burning despite global declines. It highlights a lack of strong, targeted policies to curb residue burning, particularly in densely populated farming regions. The assessment notes that projected global methane levels have declined due to stricter waste regulations in Europe and North America and a slower rise in natural gas market expansion between 2020 and 2024. These regions are expected to reduce methane emissions further by 2030 based on legislation already in place. However, the UN warns that such progress remains insufficient. It emphasises that full-scale adoption of proven methane-control technologies and mitigation practices is essential for countries to meet the Global Methane Pledge, which targets a 30% reduction in global methane emissions by 2030. Achieving the pledge could avert 0.2C of global warming by 2050, prevent over 180,000 premature deaths annually, and avoid nearly 19 million tonnes of crop losses each year by 2030. The estimated economic benefits from these avoided impacts exceed USD 330 billion annually. The report projects an 8% increase in methane emissions from rice cultivation in India between 2020 and 2030. With India hosting the largest livestock population globally, methane produced through enteric fermentation and manure remains exceptionally high. The assessment notes that India has significant potential to curb methane through improved paddy irrigation techniques such as alternate wetting and drying (AWD), better manure management, and wider utilisation of crop residues, but these areas remain insufficiently addressed in national plans.

PM Modi urges creation of Blue Book of learnings during visit to Bullet Train project in Gujarat
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited the under-construction Bullet Train Station in Surat, Gujarat, where he reviewed the progress of the MumbaiAhmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. During the visit, he interacted with the team working on Indias first Bullet Train project and enquired about the pace of work, including adherence to speed and timetable targets. Workers allegedly assured him that the project was progressing smoothly without any difficulties. An engineer from Kerala shared her experience of working at the Noise Barrier Factory in Navsari, Gujarat, where robotic units are being deployed to weld rebar cages. Modi asked her how she personally perceived the experience of building Indias first Bullet Train, and what the team shared with their families about this historic achievement. She expressed pride in contributing to the nations first Bullet Train, describing it as a dream project and a proud moment for her family. Reflecting on the spirit of national service, the Prime Minister emphasised that when the feeling arises of working for the nation and contributing something new, it becomes a source of immense motivation. He drew a parallel with Indias space journey, recalling how the scientists who launched the countrys first satellite must have felt, and how today hundreds of satellites are being launched. Another employee, Shruti from Bengaluru, serving as Lead Engineering Manager, explained the rigorous design and engineering control processes. She highlighted that at every stage of execution, her team evaluates pros and cons, identifies solutions, and explores alternatives to ensure flawless implementation. Prime Minister Modi remarked that if the experiences gained here are recorded and compiled like a Blue Book, the country can move decisively towards large-scale implementation of Bullet Trains. He emphasised that India must avoid repeated experimentation and instead replicate the learnings from existing models. The Prime Minister highlighted that replication will only be meaningful if there is a clear understanding of why certain actions were taken; otherwise, he cautioned, replication may occur without purpose or direction. He suggested that maintaining such records could benefit future students and contribute to nation-building. We will dedicate our lives here and leave behind something valuable for the country, the Prime Minister affirmed. During an interaction, an employee expressed his commitment in heartfelt words through a poem, to which the Prime Minister lauded his dedication and responded with appreciation. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was present during the visit. The Prime Minister visited the Surat station to review the progress of the MumbaiAhmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), one of Indias most ambitious infrastructure projects symbolising the nations leap into high-speed connectivity. The MAHSR spans approximately 508 kilometres, covering 352 km in Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and 156 km in Maharashtra. The corridor will connect major cities including Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane and Mumbai, marking a transformative step in Indias transport infrastructure. Built with advanced engineering techniques on a par with international standards, the project features 465 km, about 85% of the route, on viaducts, ensuring minimal land disturbance and enhanced safety. So far, 326 km of viaduct work has been completed, and 17 out of 25 river bridges have already been constructed. Upon completion, the Bullet Train will reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to nearly two hours, revolutionising inter-city travel by making it faster, easier and more comfortable. The project is expected to boost business, tourism and economic activity along the entire corridor, catalysing regional development. The SuratBilimora section, covering around 47 km, is in an advanced stage of completion, with civil works and track-bed laying fully completed. The design of the Surat station draws inspiration from the citys world-renowned diamond industry, reflecting both elegance and functionality. The station has been designed with a strong focus on passenger comfort, featuring spacious waiting lounges, restrooms and retail outlets. It will also offer seamless multi-modal connectivity with the Surat Metro, city buses and the Indian Railways network.

Maharashtra ATS conducts searches in Thane, Pune in connection to techie with alleged Al Qaeda links
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra ATS has searched the premises of a teacher in Thane and another person in Pune in connection with the recent arrest of a software engineer for his alleged links with Al Qaeda and other banned outfits, officials said on Wednesday. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) clarified that the searches were unrelated to the blast in Delhi on Monday that claimed 12 lives, but added that as part of the standard procedure, it was examining whether there was a possible Maharashtra link to the incident in the national capital. The teacher's house at Mumbra in Thane district was used for one of the meetings by the arrested Pune-based software engineer, Zubair Hangargekar, the officials said. The ATS nabbed Hangargekar (37) from Pune on October 27 for his alleged links with banned outfits, such as Al Qaeda and Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent, and for his suspected involvement in radicalisation activities. During the investigation, the ATS had found a Pakistani contact number saved on his old phone. While probing further, the ATS learned that Hangargekar had visited Mumbra in Thane for one of his meetings. Accordingly, the ATS officials visited the teacher's house on Tuesday and enquired about Hangargekar and his meeting, an official said. The teacher is neither an accused nor a witness in the case, he added. We searched the premises of two individuals, one in Kondhwa (in Pune) and another in Mumbra, and questioned them, another official said, adding that there was no connection between Hangargekar and the Delhi blast. Earlier this month, the ATS told a Pune court that Hangargekar allegedly used to deliver religious discourses aggressively in the city's Kondhwa area. During a house search there, the ATS seized mobile phones containing deleted PDF files titled 'Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and All Its Manifestations', it had said. They also recovered an Urdu translation of a speech delivered by the late Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden on Eid-ul-Fitr. In addition, a magazine titled Inspire was found, containing photographs of AK-47 training at the OSG Gun School and documents detailing the procedure to make an IED using acetone peroxide from an OSG bomb school, it told the court. The ATS had also said that during the searches, an old phone belonging to Hangargekar was recovered from one person. During the analysis of the contact list of the phone, five international phone numbers were found saved, including one from Pakistan, two from Saudi Arabia, and one each from Kuwait and Oman, it said. The call detail records of the phone, however, do not show any calls to these saved numbers, the ATS said.

India tells UNSC it has suffered from cross-border terror, illicit arms trafficking
UNITED NATIONS: India has suffered from cross-border terrorism carried out using illicit weapons trafficked across its borders, New Delhis envoy at the UN has said, in a thinly-veiled reference to Pakistan. Indias Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish stressed on Monday that the UN Security Council must have a zero-tolerance approach towards those who facilitate and sponsor the use and movement of such weapons. India has fought the scourge of terrorism for several decades and is therefore aware of the dangers posed by the diversion and illicit transfer of small arms and ammunition to armed non-State actors and terrorist groups, Harish said Monday at the UN Security Council Open Debate on Small Arms. Harishs remarks in the UN headquarters came hours after a deadly and high-intensity explosion rocked the Red Fort area in New Delhi and killed at least nine people while injuring many more. The explosion ripped through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening. India has suffered due to cross-border terrorism carried out using illicit weapons trafficked across our borders, including now through the use of drones, Harish said, in an apparent reference to Pakistan. The increase in the volume and sophistication of such arsenals reminds us that these groups cannot sustain themselves without being enabled, financed or supported, he added. India told the powerful UN Security Council that the illicit trafficking of small arms and related ammunition continues to be a major factor sustaining armed groups and terrorist organisations. The consistent access of such entities to weapons highlights the need for coordinated action to prevent their acquisition. The Security Council must continue to uphold a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and to those who facilitate, sponsor, finance or enable the use and movement of such weapons, Harish said. India also stressed that arms embargoes authorised by the Council are an important tool to restrict the flow of weapons into conflict zones and must be implemented consistently, objectively and without selectivity. Harish noted that the illicit trade, trafficking and diversion of small arms and light weapons remain a major threat to international peace and security. As a complex and multidimensional problem, it has a cross-cutting impact on development, security, humanitarian and socio-economic aspects, he said. Emphasising that India attaches high importance to preventing, combating and eradicating the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons, Harish said an integrated approach to their management requires addressing both the security and developmental dimensions. He outlined key elements that are critical for effective small arms and light weapons control, including national ownership through strong legislation and political commitment, and a standardised organisational structure for coordinated action. Effective data management to enable real-time tracing and accountability, risk management to prevent diversion and misuse, and security protocols and deterrence measures to strengthen border controls, and stockpile management, are also important for the control of these, he said. He pointed out that the report of the Secretary-General on Small arms and light weapons notes that the diversion and illicit trafficking of such weapons continue to sustain terrorist groups and armed organisations in several conflict-affected regions. It highlights that porous borders, weak stockpile security and cross-border trafficking networks enable the steady flow of such weapons, while improvised and craft-produced weapons further complicate tracing and accountability. India underscored that international cooperation is indispensable in preventing diversion, disrupting trafficking networks, improving customs and border coordination, and enabling timely intelligence and information exchange. Harish said India supports the redoubling of efforts at the national and global level to strengthen the implementation of the UN Programme of Action (PoA) and the International Tracing Instrument (ITI), including through national legislative measures and enforcement, export controls, information sharing and capacity building. He reiterated Indias firm commitment to preventing the misuse of small arms and light weapons by terrorist groups and thereby continues to contribute to the global fight against terrorism. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 3,084 crore linked to Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani in connection with a money laundering probe involving his group companies, official sources said on Monday. The attachments, issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), include Ambanis residence in Mumbais Pali Hill and several residential and commercial properties across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Hyderabad, Chennai, and East Godavari. A large plot at Reliance Centre on Maharaja Ranjit Singh Marg in Delhi is also among the seized assets. The Maha Vikas Aghadi, along with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, on Saturday held a protest march demanding the rectification of alleged irregularities in the voter list ahead of the local body polls in Maharashtra. Accusing the Election Commission of India (ECI) of turning a blind eye to the voters' list irregularities like multiple entries, wrongful deletions and additions, the Opposition stressed that the local body polls should be held only after rectifying the shortcomings. The 'Satyacha Morcha' (march for truth) started from Fashion Street in southern Mumbai in the afternoon and culminated at the BMC headquarters a kilometre away, with former chief minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar, MNS' Raj Thackeray and Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat, among others, taking part. Addressing the rally organised at the end of the march, Uddhav Thackeray said his name was uploaded on the 'Saksham' app from a fake mobile. I have a doubt that it was done to remove my name from the voters list, the former chief minister claimed. Reciting a dialogue from Sholay, he used the 'anaconda' jibe to target the BJP. Like the dialogue 'pachees kos door jab bachcha rota hai to maa kehti hai so jao nahi to Gabbar aa jayega', I want to tell you all to stay awake or else anaconda will come, Thackeray said. He said the opposition wants elections to be held as it is eager to defeat the ruling alliance. You steal my party, my symbol, my father's name and now you want to steal votes, Thackeray said in a swipe at the BJP-led ruling dispensation. Raj Thackeray alleged there are lakhs of dual voters in Mumbai as per the electoral rolls uploaded till July 1 this year. There are about 4500 voters who have voted in Kalyan rural assembly (in neighbouring Thane district) as well as Malabar Hill assembly (in south Mumbai). What is the need for elections with this bogus voter list? Clean it up and then hold polls, the MNS leader said. The local body polls have already been delayed for five years and there would be no problem if it was pushed back further by a year, he added. He asked party functionaries to check the electoral rolls minutely for dual voters. Whenever dual voters are caught, thrash them and then hand them over to the police, he added. Raj Thackeray also asked party workers to not be complacent just because he and Uddhav Thackeray have come together. We have joined hands for Marathi Hindus and the people of Maharashtra, the MNS chief said. NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar said the morcha was an exemplary show of strength and unity for protecting the Constitution and parliamentary democracy. He said the BJP-led governments in Maharashtra and at the Centre were misusing power to target rivals. Senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat said the vote theft issue was first flagged by Rahul Gandhi and is now resonating across the country. During the assembly elections, our objection to the electoral rolls went unheeded. The voters list should be rectified and only then local body elections should be held, he asserted. Congress leaders Naseem Khan, Satej Patil and Bhai Jagtap, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule also took part in the protest mocha. (With inputs from PTI)
