Trans Rights Champion Unveils Key Issues: Education, Employment, Equality

Trans Rights Champion Unveils Key Issues: Education, Employment, Equality Abuse by students and reluctance on the part of teachers to take action compelled her to drop out of school after class IX, says Maya Thakur, the transgender icon of Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission. Hailing from the Kothi village in Kunihar area of the Solan district under Shimla parliamentary constituency, Thakur said that the situation had become so grim that villagers started pressurising her family to ''throw her out''. She was perhaps the only transgender among 35 belonging to the third gender in the state, who gathered the courage to speak up. ''When I used to tell my family members about the mal-treatment and discrimination in the school to an extent that I was not allowed to use the toilet, they thought I was making excuses to skip the school. Given a chance, I would like to resume my education,'' she said lamenting that she faced discrimination at ''every step in life''. ''Education, jobs and ending discrimination against transgenders are our main issues. There are transgenders who wish to study, become teachers, lawyers, join the police and excel in other spheres of life but when we apply for jobs, the response is 'will tell you if there is any scheme for you'. ''I was born as a male but identified myself as a woman. My identity is that of a transgender woman, we are unisex and not eunuchs'', she told PTI, adding that they are not accepted in society as people consider them eunuchs and maintain distance. The situation is still better in south India as compared to the north, and there is a need to spread awareness for social acceptability for transgenders, who have the right to live a life of their choice, she said. She also blamed the police for not registering their complaints against high handedness. Thakur, who earlier worked at an NGO in Delhi, advocates for lessons on transgenders in educational curriculum on the lines of countries like Canada, which provides for the right to an educational environment free from discrimination and harassment and use of bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity. The eunuch culture of extorting money by threatening or cursing should be stopped, she said. Besides, the practice of eunuchs taking away transgenders or harassing them, and people indulging in such acts should attract legal action, she insisted.

PM Modi not Italian like Sonia Gandhi who doesn't know Hindi: Kangana

Shimla: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not an Italian like Congress leader Sonia Gandhi who does not know Hindi, he is a son of the soil who is working for the country's progress, said actor Kangana Ranaut, the BJP candidate from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, on Friday.Addressing a rally at Jagat Khana in Kullu district, Ranaut said Modi is a symbol of good governance and the prime minister knows several languages, including Pahari. Prime Minister Modi is not an Italian like Sonia Gandhi who does not know Hindi. He is a son of the soil, was born in a poor family and is working for the welfare and development of the country, she said. On one hand, there is Modi's good governance and on the other hand, the corruption of the Congress and the people of Himachal Pradesh have made up their mind to ensure the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory in the June 1 polls, she added. Attacking Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for his remarks that Jai Ram Thakur, the leader of opposition in the state Assembly, is making a flop film, Ranaut said Thakur had a super hit tenure of five years as chief minister but Sukhu has failed in his job in 15 months. Sukhu had earlier said Kangana is a good actress but her film would flop as her scriptwriters are Thakur and state BJP chief Rajiv Bindal. Taking a dig at the Congress candidate from Mandi, Vikramaditya Singh, the son of six-time former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh and state party chief Pratibha Singh, Ranaut said his family has been sticking to power for long. Tikkaji (Singh) is the face of the dynastic politics of the Congress, whereas the BJP is a party of commoners where a tea seller (Modi) becomes the prime minister and the son of a mason (Thakur) becomes a chief minister, she added. Meanwhile, addressing a public meeting in Kullu, Singh said, Where are the two crore jobs promised by the BJP and why is the BJP not talking about inflation? The saffron party should talk about development issues rather than misleading the public on Hindu-Muslim and India-Pakistan, he added. The Congress leader also listed his priorities for Kullu district, including promotion of tourism, opening medical colleges and the construction of the Jalori Jot tunnel.

BJP did politics in name of cow but Cong worked for its welfare, says Himachal CM

BJP did politics in name of cow but Cong worked for its welfare, says Himachal CM Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday alleged that the BJP did only cow politics while the Congress built cowsheds and worked for cow welfare in the state. ''To solve the problem of destitute animals, the state government has decided to increase the grant given to private cow shelters from Rs 700 to Rs 1,200 per month,'' CM Sukhu said in a statement issued here. Apart from this, a state-level task force will be formed to deal with the problem of stray cows in the state, he said. This force will give suggestions with regard to keeping these stray cows in cow sanctuaries and cowsheds after consultation with farmers and local communities, Sukhu said, adding that provision for this initiative has been made in the budget for the financial year 2024-25. He added that the present Congress government in the state has taken various effective steps to strengthen the rural economy so that the standard of living of the people in the villages can be improved. ''The BJP has only done politics in the name of cow whereas the present Congress government (in Himachal Pradesh) has made many schemes for the welfare of cows and cowherds,'' the CM said in the statement. Sukhu claimed that as 90 per cent of Himachal Pradesh's population lives in villages, the state government is focused on making policies and launching programmes that will strengthen their economic status. The chief minister said that an artificial insemination training centre will be established at Darlaghat in Solan district to provide best breed animals to the cattle rearers. He added that the Congress-led state government will ensure fair prices for milk products to farmers. Sukhu said that with the aim of developing skills related to animal husbandry among the youth of the state, new skill training programmes will be started through the Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation. ''An additional plant with a capacity of 50,000 litres per day (LPD) is being started in the milk processing plant in Duttnagar in Shimla district. Milk processing plants with modern technology are being established in Una and Hamirpur on which approximately Rs 50 crore will be spent,'' CM Sukhu said.

Himachal Pradesh: Election Commission flags off cycling expedition to world's highest polling station at Tashigang

Himachal Pradesh: Election Commission flags off cycling expedition to world's highest polling station at Tashigang The Election Commission of India has launched an awareness campaign to increase voter turnout in the north Indian hill state, Himachal Pradesh, with young cycling enthusiasts. The Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal Pradesh, Manish Garg, flagged off a cycling exercise with a campaign to make voters aware. Two cyclists, including the state icon of the election commission in Himachal Pradesh, will reach the world's highest polling station at Tashigang in the Tribal district of Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 15256 feet above sea level. The Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal Pradesh said the objective is to tell voters that if cycling can reach the world's highest polling station, why can't they come out to vote at the station that is near their houses? The youth and state icon of the state election commission, Jaspreet Pal, said that they are enthusiastic about motivating youth to vote. Jaspreet Pal, said, As you know, in our country, the festival of democracy is underway. I believe that as we celebrate other festivals in India with great fervour and enthusiasm, we shall also similarly celebrate this festival of democracy. This expedition is a challenge to reach a higher altitude and the second challenge is to motivate people for elections and voting. As you know, we have completed four phases of elections, and three phases are there We shall go for polling in the 7th phase. We want to focus on the youth of the state to motivate them for greater participation in voting, as the Election Commission has made me the state icon of Himachal Pradesh. Youth are themselves icons; they can connect with people and motivate them to vote, he added further. The Chief Electoral Officer, Manish Garg, said that Himachal Pradesh had broken earlier the old records of voting percentage and this year as well, the state will try to break and set a record of highest voting for the nation. We have Assembly by Elections and Parliamentary Constituency on June 1st. This cycling expedition is going to be very important and give an important message to the young voters. There is a craze for cycling among the youth. Large numbers of people are cycling. We are trying to connect the young and other voters as well. This expedition will go from Shimla to Tashigang and it will go through Theog, Rampur, Rekong Peo, Kaza, Nako, Hikim, and Tashigang. We have also organised that awareness programmes would be organised in schools and colleges. Through this, we are trying to convey the message that we could reach Tashigang by cycling so it is easy to reach the polling stations. Himachal Pradesh had a good tradition of breaking previous records of voting, as we saw in the last Vidhansabha elections also. This time, we hope that we will be breaking the records of not only the Vidhan Sabha but also the previous Lok Sabha as well, he added further. Notably, Himachal Pradesh will go for the poll in the 7th and last phase and elections will be held on June 1 for the four parliamentary constituencies and 6 assembly by-elections. (ANI)

All defecting MLAs will be behind bars soon: Himachal CM Sukhu

All defecting MLAs will be behind bars soon: Himachal CM Sukhu After the six Congress MLAs switched sides to the BJP in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Monday said that all the defecting MLAs will be behind bars soon. While addressing an election rally in Shimla Sukhu said that the government will run for three and a half more years, and will repeat in 2027. He said that after June 1 the people of the state will teach a lesson to the corrupt people. The left-wing CPI(M) leaders also shared a stage with Congress in Shimla during the election rally in Shimla which was held in favour of the Congress candidate after nomination. The Congress Party candidate from the Shimla parliamentary seat Vinod Sultanpuri filed nomination papers in the presence of CM Sukhu today. After this, while addressing the public meeting at Chaura maidan, the Chief Minister launched a fierce attack on the rebel legislators who had rebelled against the Congress and joined the BJP. Addressing the public meeting, Sukhu said that six tainted leaders of the Congress Party were sold out by money power and rebelled against the party. Sukhu said that after presenting the budget 2024-25, all the tainted leaders praised the government, but when they were allured by the BJP with money, they were sold in the political market and ran away to Panchkula to get the second instalment. Congress has the power of the people. This fight is not to save the government or the post of Chief Minister, but to teach a lesson to those corrupt people and also to save the constitution and democracy. BJP leaders had conspired to topple the government through money and this election will decide the future politics, he added. CM Sukhu said that the people of Himachal Pradesh will give a befitting reply to the politics of horse trading by defeating the BJP in these elections and setting an example for the entire country. He said that the BJP has stolen one Rajya Sabha seat, but the people of the state will give all four Lok Sabha seats to Congress. All these corrupt people will be put behind bars. Sukhu Sarkar will run for three and a half more years. After this, part two of the government will be repeated in the year 2027, he added. Elections to four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh along with assembly bypolls, following the disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs, will be held on June 1 in the last phase of polling. Addressing a rally in Shimla, the chief minister claimed that after the Congress formed government in the state, the old pension system was restored in the very first cabinet meeting and corrupt practices were also checked. ''The film of Sukhu government would go for another three and half years and part two will come in 2027,'' he said and accused the BJP of trying to topple his government using money power. Early in the day, he accompanied the Congress candidate in Shimla (SC) Lok Sabha constituency Vinod Sultanpuri for his nomination filing. Taking to reporters after Sultanpuri submitted his nomination papers, Sukhu said, ''This is not a normal election. It is an election to save democracy and give the politics of the country a direction.'' Sitting BJP MP Suresh Kashyap also filed his nomination papers from the Shimla seat on Monday. He was accompanied by senior BJP leaders, including his father and former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, and his brother Arun Dhumal, the chairman of the Indian Premier League. Interacting with reporters after filing his nomination, Thakur, who is seeking a fifth term in the Lok Sabha from the Hamirpur seat, said there was no anti-incumbency against the BJP and the party was poised to win the elections with over 400 seats. The Congress is responsible for the decline. It is struggling to win even 40 seats Lok Sabha seats whereas the BJP has the highest number of MPs and mayors across the country, the BJP leader said. ''PM Narendra Modi symbolises confidence, honesty, commitment, and guarantee. The BJP is fighting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections following his mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas,'' Thakur said. Before filing his nomination, he paid obeisance at the temple of Maa Awahdevi and addressed people at several places. Hundreds of party functionaries and locals greeted him with garlands and wished him luck. 12 Candidates, Including Vikramaditya Singh and Anand Sharma, Join Himachal Pradesh Bypoll Race

12 Candidates, Including Vikramaditya Singh and Anand Sharma, Join Himachal Pradesh Bypoll Race Twelve candidates, including Congress leaders Vikramaditya Singh and Anand Sharma, filed their nomination papers on Thursday, taking the total number of nominations filed in the past three days to 21. Singh, who filed his nomination from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat, attacked BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut in an oblique reference while Sharma, who filed his nomination papers from Kangra, shunned the ''outsider'' tag, and said they had never questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hailing from Gujarat, contested elections from Varanasi. ''We are doing politics of development, she is doing politics of entertainment,'' said Singh, adding that this ''picture'' directed by Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur would fail at the ''box office'' on June 1. Singh, was accompanied by his mother and state Congress chief Pratibha Singh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and Himachal in-charge Rajiv Shukla, while Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania and Cabinet Minister Chander Kumar accompanied Sharma. ''Kangana had started her campaign 20-25 days back and from morning to evening, she used abusive words for us but has not uttered a single word on her vision for this parliamentary constituency'', he said, adding that she should tell people what she wanted to do. Mandi would be made a smart city and Jalori Jot tunnel would be constructed on the line of the Rohtang tunnel. The remote Pangi area of Chamba would also be connected through the tunnel, Singh told PTI. ''I would take forward the long and deep relation with the people of Mandi,'' the Congress candidate, who is the son of former chief minister late Virbhadra Singh, said. Scion of erstwhile Rampur estate, Singh is pitted against actor and BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut. ''Change of winds are visible in the country and after the first three phases of Lok Sabha polls, the BJP has been washed out in the South and halved in the North,'' he claimed. ''Vikramaditya Singh would win by a margin of over two lakh,'' said Sukhu. Later, addressing public rallies in favour of Singh and Sharma at Mandi and Dharamshala, Sukhu said that the MLAs who ''sold'' themselves would be behind the bars. Investigations are underway and soon ''big things'' will come out. He also targeted the BJP candidate from Dharamshala assembly seat Sudhir Sharma and alleged that the Dharamshala MLA also ''sold himself in the political market''. He was apparently referring to six Congress rebel MLAs who voted in favour of the BJP in Rajya Sabha elections, and later joined the BJP and are now contesting the Assembly by-polls from their respective seats on BJP ticket. ''This is an election between honesty and corruption and the issue of horse-trading by the BJP would be kept before the people, besides public welfare work undertaken by the state government like restoration of the Old Pension Scheme and Rs 1,500 monthly to women,'' said CM Sukhu. Interacting with the media, Sukhu claimed that he has extensively toured the constituency and people are praising the policies of the Congress government and the efforts made during the monsoon disaster, and they are against the BJP for allegedly not standing with the state during the disaster. After filing the nomination, Anand Sharma rejected the ''outsider'' tag given to him by the BJP and said that he is a Himachali, born in Shimla. ''We have never questioned that PM Narendra Modi is from Gujarat and contesting from Varanasi, we do not have such a small mindset,'' he said. Sharma, a four-time Rajya Sabha member and former Union minister who would take on BJP candidate Rajeev Bhardwaj, was accompanied by Speaker Kukdeep Singh Pathania and Cabinet Minister Chander Kumar. ''This is not a new place for me and we are going to the people and trying to convey our message to every voter. Our focus would be on promoting eco-tourism and adventure sports in Kangra and Chamba districts falling under the Kangra Lok Sabha seat,'' Sharma said while talking to media persons. Expansion of railways and setting up central institutions and a trade park in Chamba would also be the priorities, and at present 11 out of 16 MLAs in the Kangra parliamentary seat are from the Congress, while one seat of Dharamshala is going for bypolls along with the Lok Sabha elections, he added. Among others who filed the nominations were Congress rebel and BJP candidate Ravi Thakur, who filed his nomination papers for Lahaul and Spiti assembly by-polls. He was accompanied by Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur.

Himachal: Only three women elected to LS polls till date, just two in fray this time

SHIMLA: Only three women have made it to the Lok Sabha from Himachal Pradesh in the past 72 years and this time, just two are in the fray. Women constitute almost 49 per cent of the total voters in the state. Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, Chandresh Kumari and Pratibha Singh, the three successful candidates till now belonged to royal families. Only the BJP and the BSP have nominated women candidates for the June 1 elections for the four Lok Sabha seats in the state. While the BJP has fielded actor Kangana Ranaut from Mandi, Rekha Rani is contesting on a BSP ticket from Kangra. Women from humble background rising high in politics and carving a niche for themselves is still a big challenge in the country and Himachal Pradesh is no exception. At present, women constitute about 49 per cent of the total voters in the state but representation is not even one fourth and this is a cause of serious concern, said Ramesh Chauhan, head of the department of political science at Himachal Pradesh University. In politics, what matters is who has the decision-making power. This power is normally with men and until women are given prominent positions, they would not emerge as empowered and surpass their dominant male counterparts, Chauhan told PTI. According to Kamal Manohar Sharma, who also teaches political science at Himachal Pradesh University, the status of women has been high in the state and even before reservation for women was introduced, women pradhans were elected in Mandi, Kinnaur and Kangra districts. But women were not so keen to climb the ladder to the assembly, he claimed. Moreover, the political parties also did not promote or encourage the women with humble background, he added. Political parties go all out to woo the women voters but when it comes to declaring candidates, women get few opportunities, the political experts felt. To add to it, participation of women voters surpass male voters especially in rural areas but still few women get elected, they added. Congress names 16 more candidates, Vikramaditya Singh to take on Kangana Ranaut in Mandi A total of 56,38,422 voters - 28,79,200 male, 27,59,187 female and 35 third gender persons - are eligible to exercise their franchise for the seats of Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, and Shimla (SC) in the seventh and last phase of polling on June 1. Amrit Kaur, India's first health minister who hailed from the royal family of Kapurthala, was elected to Lok Sabha from Mandi constituency in 1952. Thereafter, no woman got a ticket till 1984. However, in 1984, Chandresh Kumari from the royal family of Jodhpur who was married in Himachal Pradesh, was fielded by the Congress from Kangra and won as the party swept the election, riding on the sympathy wave following the assassination of the then prime minister Indira Gandhi. Pratibha Singh, wife of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha polls in 1998. However, she won the elections in 2004 when her husband was the chief minister. In 2009, Virbhadra Singh was elected to Lok Sabha from Mandi but he quit after becoming chief minister in 2012 and his wife Pratibha Singh won the by-election in 2013. She again contested the Lok Sabha polls in 2014 but lost to Ram Swaroop of BJP, who was re-elected in 2019. But the seat fell vacant when Ram Swaroop died in March 2021 and Pratibha Singh won for the third time in the by-election held in November 2021 after the death of Virbhadra Singh. In 2014, the AAP fielded Kargil war hero Capt Vikram Batra's mother Kamal Kanta Batra from Hamirpur but she polled only 15,329 votes and lost. Even in the 68-member state assembly, the representation of women has been abysmally low and no woman was elected till 1967. Only one woman entered the assembly in 1977 and 2022. However, the highest number of seven women was elected to the state assembly in the 1998 elections. So far, eight women have been elected to Rajya Sabha from the state.

At the beginning of the 21st century, no one knew what kind of skills people would need in the next 20-25 years and similarly, many current skills will no longer be useful in the future, she said. The focus, she said, should be on what to learn as well as how to learn. When students learn independently, without any stress, their creativity and imagination take flight and they innovate, find solutions to problems and learn with curiosity, she added. ''The youth have immense potential for growth and are the most important link to fulfil the resolve of a developed India,'' the President said, calling on the youth to dedicate themselves to the country. Murmu also had a message for teachers. Education should be such that it makes students self-reliant and builds their character and personality. The aim of education is also to create awareness among the students about their culture, tradition and civilisation and the role of teachers is very important in this regard, she said. ''The scope of work of teachers is not limited to teaching only and they have the responsibility of building the future of the nation,'' she said. Congratulating the students, the President said, ''I have been told that girls have surpassed boys in getting gold medals, which is very appreciable as they have made a mark with their own efforts.'' On the occasion, Murmu also conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. Later, Murmu paid obeisance at the Chamunda Devi temple near Dharamshala. The President is on a five-day visit to Himachal Pradesh from May 4 to 8. She is staying at Rashtrapati Niwas near Mashobra, about 14 km from Shimla. On Tuesday, she would offer prayers at Sankat Mochan and Tara Devi temples, take a stroll on Mall Road, enjoy a cultural evening at Gaiety Theatre and join a dinner in her honour at Raj Bhawan.

Is your partner cheating? Identify with these signs

Infidelity can be a painful experience in any relationship. If you suspect your partner of cheating, it's crucial to look out for signs that may indicate their unfaithfulness. While no single behavior guarantees infidelity, a combination of these signs might raise red flags. Sudden Change in Routine One of the most common signs of infidelity is a sudden change in your partner's routine. This could include working late frequently, making unexplained trips, or spending more time away from home without a valid reason. Lack of Communication If your partner becomes secretive about their phone calls, texts, or emails, it could be a sign of cheating. They may also avoid discussing certain topics or become defensive when questioned about their whereabouts. Emotional Distance Infidelity often leads to emotional disconnection in a relationship. Your partner may seem distant, uninterested in spending time with you, or unwilling to engage in meaningful conversations. H4: Unexplained Expenses Another sign to watch out for is unexplained expenses. Your partner may start spending money on gifts, hotel rooms, or dinners out without a reasonable explanation. Changes in Appearance When someone is cheating, they often make an effort to improve their appearance to impress their new partner. Your partner may suddenly start dressing differently, hitting the gym more frequently, or paying more attention to their grooming habits. Decreased Intimacy A decrease in physical intimacy can be a sign of infidelity. If your partner shows little interest in being intimate with you or seems disengaged during intimate moments, it could indicate that they are getting their needs met elsewhere. Defensive Behavior Cheating partners may become defensive when questioned about their behavior or whereabouts. They may overreact to innocent inquiries or try to deflect blame onto you to avoid discussing the issue. Gut Feeling Sometimes, your intuition can be a powerful indicator of infidelity. If you have a gut feeling that something is not right in your relationship, it's essential to trust your instincts and investigate further. Changes in Social Circle A cheating partner may start spending more time with new friends or coworkers. They may also become secretive about their social plans or hesitant to introduce you to their new acquaintances. Lack of Trust Infidelity can erode trust in a relationship. If you find yourself constantly questioning your partner's honesty or feeling paranoid about their actions, it may be a sign that they are being unfaithful. Blame Shifting Cheating partners often try to shift the blame onto their significant other to justify their actions. They may accuse you of being too controlling, insecure, or neglectful to deflect attention away from their infidelity. Changes in Sleep Patterns If your partner's sleep patterns suddenly change, it could be a sign of infidelity. They may stay up late texting or talking to their lover, or they may come home at odd hours, disrupting your sleep routine. Lack of Interest in Future Plans A cheating partner may lose interest in making plans for the future with you. They may avoid discussing long-term goals or commitments, indicating that they see their future without you in it. Secrecy About Technology If your partner suddenly becomes secretive about their devices, such as password protecting their phone or clearing their browser history, it could be a sign that they are hiding something from you. Changes in Sexual Behavior Infidelity can lead to changes in sexual behavior within a relationship. Your partner may show a sudden increase or decrease in sexual desire, or they may introduce new techniques or preferences that they learned from someone else. Gaslighting Gaslighting is a manipulative tactic used by cheating partners to make their significant other doubt their own perceptions and sanity. They may deny or minimize their actions, making you feel like you're overreacting or imagining things. Lack of Remorse If your partner shows little to no remorse for their actions when confronted about infidelity, it may indicate that they have checked out of the relationship emotionally and are not invested in repairing the damage they've caused. If you notice any of these signs in your relationship, it's essential to address them openly and honestly with your partner. While none of these behaviors conclusively prove infidelity, they may indicate underlying issues that need to be addressed for the health of your relationship. Leave Shimla-Manali! Who moves on sooner after heartbreak, a boy or a girl?

Heartbreak is a deeply personal and often painful experience that many individuals encounter at some point in their lives. Whether initiated by a breakup, the loss of a loved one, or the end of a significant relationship, heartbreak can leave lasting emotional scars and profoundly impact one's well-being. While the intensity and duration of heartbreak can vary from person to person, there's a prevailing curiosity about whether certain gender stereotypes hold true when it comes to how quickly individuals recover from heartbreak. Breaking Down Stereotypes: Stereotypes surrounding gender and emotional resilience suggest that women are inherently better equipped to handle heartbreak than men. This belief stems from societal norms that portray women as more emotionally expressive and nurturing, while men are expected to embody strength, stoicism, and emotional restraint. However, these stereotypes fail to capture the complexity of human emotions and the diverse ways in which individuals navigate the aftermath of a breakup. Stereotype vs. Reality: Contrary to popular belief, research suggests that men and women may experience and cope with heartbreak in distinct ways. While women are often perceived as being more emotionally sensitive and prone to experiencing intense feelings of sadness and grief after a breakup, men may express their emotions differently or may be more likely to suppress them altogether. This difference in emotional expression can create a false impression that women are taking longer to recover from heartbreak, while men appear to move on more quickly. Cultural and Social Influences: The way individuals respond to heartbreak is heavily influenced by cultural and social norms that dictate acceptable gender behavior. From a young age, boys are socialized to avoid showing vulnerability or weakness, as it is often equated with femininity. As a result, many men learn to mask their emotional pain and adopt a facade of strength, even in the face of heartbreak. On the other hand, girls are encouraged to express their emotions openly and seek support from friends and family members, which may contribute to the perception that women are better equipped to cope with heartbreak. Communication Patterns: Communication styles also play a significant role in how men and women navigate heartbreak. Men, conditioned to prioritize independence and self-reliance, may be less inclined to seek emotional support from others and instead attempt to cope with their feelings internally. This can lead to a misconception that men are moving on faster from a breakup when, in reality, they may be struggling silently behind closed doors. Conversely, women may be more inclined to share their feelings with others and seek solace in the company of friends or loved ones, which can prolong the healing process but also provide valuable emotional support. Gender Differences in Coping Mechanisms: Emotional Expression: Women are often socialized to be more emotionally expressive and in touch with their feelings, which may manifest in openly acknowledging and processing their emotions following a breakup. From tearful conversations with friends to journaling their thoughts and feelings, women may actively engage in activities that allow them to confront and make sense of their heartbreak. In contrast, men may struggle to articulate their emotions or may feel pressure to conform to masculine ideals of emotional stoicism. This can result in men internalizing their pain and seeking outlets for distraction or avoidance, such as burying themselves in work or engaging in high-risk behaviors. Cognitive Strategies: In addition to differences in emotional expression, men and women may employ distinct cognitive strategies to cope with heartbreak. Women may be more inclined to ruminate on the details of the breakup, replaying conversations and analyzing what went wrong in an effort to gain closure. While this introspective process can be cathartic, it may also prolong feelings of sadness and longing. In contrast, men may adopt a more problem-solving approach, focusing on practical solutions or distractions to avoid dwelling on their emotions. However, this tendency to suppress or avoid painful feelings can impede the healing process and delay emotional resolution. Social Support Networks: The presence of a strong support system is crucial for both men and women as they navigate the emotional aftermath of a breakup. Women are often portrayed as seeking comfort and validation from friends, family, or support groups, which can provide a sense of solidarity and understanding during a difficult time. However, men may face barriers to seeking social support due to fears of appearing weak or vulnerable. As a result, they may rely more heavily on individual coping strategies or turn to activities that offer a temporary distraction from their pain. Factors Influencing Recovery Time: Individual Personality Traits: Beyond gender differences, individual personality traits can also influence how quickly someone recovers from heartbreak. Introverted individuals, who tend to be more inwardly focused and introspective, may require more time to process their emotions and come to terms with the end of a relationship. Extroverts, on the other hand, may seek out social interaction as a means of distraction or emotional support, which can expedite the healing process. However, it's important to recognize that everyone copes with heartbreak differently, regardless of their personality type. Length and Intensity of Relationship: The duration and intensity of the relationship can significantly impact how long it takes to heal from a breakup. Long-term relationships that are deeply intertwined with one's identity, routines, and future plans may elicit a more prolonged and intense grieving process. Conversely, shorter relationships or those characterized by ambivalence or uncertainty may be easier to move on from, as the emotional investment is less significant. However, the end of any relationship, regardless of its duration, can trigger feelings of loss, rejection, and uncertainty about the future. Support System: The presence of a supportive network of friends, family members, or mental health professionals can facilitate the healing process and provide essential emotional validation and guidance. For women, the act of sharing their feelings with others and receiving empathy and understanding can be instrumental in processing their emotions and moving forward. Similarly, men may benefit from seeking out trusted confidants or seeking therapy to explore their feelings in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Ultimately, the quality of one's support system can profoundly impact their ability to heal and recover from heartbreak. The Importance of Self-Care: Prioritizing Mental Health: Regardless of gender, it's essential for individuals to prioritize their mental and emotional well-being in the aftermath of a breakup. This may involve engaging in self-care practices such as exercise, mindfulness, and creative expression to manage stress and promote emotional resilience. Additionally, seeking professional help from a therapist or counselor can provide valuable guidance and support as individuals navigate the complex emotions associated with heartbreak. By prioritizing self-care and seeking support when needed, individuals can take proactive steps toward healing and rebuilding their lives after a breakup. Avoiding Comparison: It's natural to compare one's healing process to that of others, especially in a culture that glorifies resilience and quick recovery. However, it's essential to recognize that everyone's journey through heartbreak is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all timeline for healing. Comparing oneself to others can fuel feelings of inadequacy or self-doubt and hinder the healing process. Instead, individuals should focus on their own needs and emotions, allowing themselves the time and space to grieve and heal at their own pace. In conclusion, the idea that one gender moves on sooner after heartbreak than the other is a simplistic and outdated notion that fails to capture the complexity of human emotions. While societal norms and gender stereotypes may influence how men and women express and cope with heartbreak, the reality is that individuals navigate the healing process in their own way and at their own pace. By recognizing and respecting these differences, we can create a more empathetic and inclusive understanding of heartbreak and support those who are experiencing it. Leave Shimla-Manali! Do not store these fruits in the fridge even by mistake

When it comes to preserving fruits, many of us instinctively reach for the fridge as the go-to storage solution. However, not all fruits thrive in the chilly confines of the refrigerator. In fact, some fruits suffer significant flavor loss, texture alterations, or even accelerated spoilage when subjected to cold temperatures. Let's delve into the fruits that should never be refrigerated, ensuring they retain their optimal taste and quality. H1: Bananas: Nature's Perfect Snack Bananas are a staple in many households, beloved for their natural sweetness and convenience. However, refrigerating them can cause their peels to darken prematurely. This occurs due to the cold hindering the enzymatic processes responsible for maintaining the vibrant yellow hue of the peel. Additionally, the cold temperatures can disrupt the ripening process, leading to a duller flavor and mushier texture. Tomatoes: Versatile and Vibrant Tomatoes are a kitchen essential, whether sliced on sandwiches, diced in salads, or simmered into sauces. Surprisingly, refrigeration can compromise their taste and texture. The cold temperatures can cause the flesh to become mealy and the flavor to dull as the natural sugars are disrupted. Instead, store tomatoes at room temperature to preserve their juicy, flavorful profile. Avocados: Creamy and Nutrient-rich Avocados are prized for their creamy texture and nutrient-packed flesh. While it's tempting to prolong their shelf life by refrigerating them, this can hinder the ripening process and result in unappetizing, rubbery fruit. To enjoy perfectly ripe avocados, store them at room temperature until they yield to gentle pressure, indicating they're ready to eat. Stone Fruits: Juicy and Flavorful Stone fruits like peaches, plums, and nectarines boast juicy flesh bursting with flavor. However, refrigerating these fruits can dull their taste and cause the flesh to become mealy. Instead, store them at room temperature until ripe, then enjoy their peak flavor and texture. Once ripe, they can be refrigerated briefly to prolong freshness, but allow them to return to room temperature before consuming for the best taste experience. Citrus Fruits: Zesty and Refreshing Citrus fruits, including oranges, lemons, and limes, add brightness to both sweet and savory dishes. While they may seem suited to the cold, refrigerating citrus fruits can actually lead to a loss of flavor and juiciness. Instead, store them at room temperature or in a cool, dark pantry to maintain their optimal taste and texture. Pineapple: Tropical Sweetness Pineapple's tropical sweetness makes it a favorite addition to fruit salads, smoothies, and savory dishes. However, refrigerating pineapple can cause it to become overly soft and lose its vibrant flavor. To keep pineapple fresh, store it at room temperature until ripe, then enjoy its juicy, tangy goodness. Melons: Summer Refreshment Melons like watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew are synonymous with summer refreshment. While it may seem logical to chill these fruits, refrigeration can actually impair their flavor and texture. Instead, store whole melons at room temperature until ripe, then refrigerate cut portions for a refreshing treat. Berries: Bursting with Flavor Berries, including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, are delicate fruits prized for their vibrant colors and sweet-tart flavor. However, refrigerating berries can lead to moisture retention, accelerating mold growth and spoilage. To prolong the freshness of berries, store them unwashed in a single layer in the fridge and rinse just before eating. Mangoes: Tropical Delight Mangoes, with their tropical aroma and sweet, juicy flesh, are a true delight. While refrigeration may seem like a logical choice, it can actually impair the ripening process and diminish flavor. Instead, allow mangoes to ripen at room temperature until they yield to gentle pressure near the stem end, indicating they're ready to enjoy. Persimmons: Autumn Splendor Persimmons, with their vibrant orange hue and honey-like sweetness, are a seasonal delicacy. Refrigerating persimmons can disrupt the ripening process and lead to a bitter taste. To enjoy the full flavor of persimmons, store them at room temperature until ripe, then savor their autumn splendor. Papayas: Tropical Indulgence Papayas are prized for their luscious, orange flesh and tropical flavor. However, refrigerating papayas can cause the flesh to become mushy and bland. To enjoy the full flavor and texture of papayas, store them at room temperature until ripe, then indulge in their tropical sweetness. Figs: Nature's Jam Figs, with their sweet, jam-like flesh and delicate skin, are a culinary treasure. Refrigerating figs can cause them to lose their delicate texture and flavor. Instead, store figs at room temperature until ripe, then enjoy their luscious sweetness on its own or paired with cheese and nuts. Cherries: Summer's Bounty Cherries, with their glossy skins and juicy flesh, are a quintessential summer treat. Refrigerating cherries can cause them to become soft and lose their crisp texture. Instead, store cherries at room temperature until ripe, then refrigerate to prolong freshness. Peppers: Colorful and Flavorful Peppers, whether sweet or spicy, add vibrant color and flavor to dishes. While refrigeration may seem like a logical choice, it can actually cause peppers to become soft and lose their crunch. Instead, store peppers at room temperature for optimal texture and flavor. Eggplants: Versatile and Nutritious Eggplants are prized for their meaty texture and ability to absorb flavors. However, refrigerating eggplants can cause them to become bitter and mushy. Instead, store eggplants at room temperature until ready to use, then enjoy them grilled, roasted, or sauted to perfection. Potatoes: Starchy Staples Potatoes are a versatile staple in many cuisines, prized for their starchy texture and ability to complement a wide range of dishes. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prolong their shelf life, it can actually cause the starches to convert to sugar, resulting in a gritty texture and unpleasant flavor. Instead, store potatoes in a cool, dark pantry or cupboard away from onions, which can cause them to sprout prematurely. Onions: Culinary Essential Onions are a fundamental ingredient in countless recipes, prized for their pungent flavor and aromatic appeal. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prevent sprouting and extend shelf life, it can actually cause onions to become soft and moldy. Instead, store onions in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ensuring proper air circulation to prevent premature spoilage. Garlic: Flavorful Enhancement Garlic is a culinary powerhouse, valued for its pungent flavor and aromatic appeal. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prolong its shelf life, it can actually cause garlic to sprout and become rubbery. Instead, store garlic in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, allowing proper air circulation to maintain optimal freshness. Bread: Daily Staple Bread is a dietary staple enjoyed in various forms around the world, from crusty baguettes to fluffy sandwich loaves. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prevent mold growth and extend shelf life, it can actually cause bread to dry out and become stale more quickly. Instead, store bread in a cool, dry place or freeze slices for longer-term storage, ensuring they're tightly wrapped to prevent freezer burn. Basil: Fragrant Herb Basil is a fragrant herb prized for its fresh, aromatic flavor. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prolong its shelf life, it can actually cause basil leaves to wilt and turn black. Instead, store basil at room temperature in a glass of water, similar to a bouquet of flowers, and cover the leaves with a plastic bag to retain moisture. Coffee Beans: Liquid Gold Coffee beans are a cherished commodity, prized for their rich, complex flavors and invigorating aroma. While refrigeration may seem like a way to preserve freshness, it can actually cause coffee beans to absorb odors from other foods in the fridge. Instead, store coffee beans in an airtight container in a cool, dark place to maintain their optimal flavor profile. Honey: Nature's Sweetener Honey is a natural sweetener beloved for its golden hue and rich, complex flavor. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prevent crystallization, it can actually cause honey to become thick and grainy. Instead, store honey at room temperature in a sealed container, where it will remain liquid and pourable for months. Olive Oil: Culinary Essential Olive oil is a culinary staple prized for its fruity flavor and versatility. While refrigeration may seem like a way to preserve freshness, it can actually cause olive oil to solidify and lose its flavor. Instead, store olive oil in a cool, dark place away from heat and light to maintain its optimal taste and texture. Nuts: Nutrient-rich Snack Nuts are a nutrient-rich snack enjoyed in various forms, from almonds to walnuts. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prevent rancidity, it can actually cause nuts to absorb odors from other foods in the fridge. Instead, store nuts in an airtight container in a cool, dark place to maintain their freshness and flavor. Chocolate: Indulgent Treat Chocolate is an indulgent treat enjoyed in various forms, from rich dark bars to creamy milk chocolates. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prevent melting, it can actually cause chocolate to absorb odors from other foods in the fridge. Instead, store chocolate in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its optimal flavor and texture. Wine: Liquid Elixir Wine is a beloved beverage enjoyed for its complex flavors and ability to complement a wide range of dishes. While refrigeration may seem like a way to preserve freshness, it can actually cause wine to lose its flavor and aroma. Instead, store wine in a cool, dark place away from heat and light to maintain its optimal taste profile. Eggs: Breakfast Staple Eggs are a breakfast staple enjoyed in various forms, from scrambled to poached. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prolong freshness, it can actually cause eggs to absorb odors from other foods in the fridge. Instead, store eggs in their original carton in the refrigerator's main compartment to maintain their quality and flavor. Butter: Culinary Essential Butter is a culinary essential prized for its rich, creamy flavor and versatility. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prevent spoilage, it can actually cause butter to become overly hard and difficult to spread. Instead, store butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator's main compartment to maintain its freshness and flavor. Cheese: Dairy Delight Cheese is a dairy delight enjoyed in various forms, from creamy brie to sharp cheddar. While refrigeration may seem like a way to prevent spoilage, it can actually cause cheese to lose its flavor and aroma. Instead, store cheese in an airtight container in the refrigerator's main compartment to maintain its optimal texture and taste. Milk: Calcium-rich Beverage Milk is a calcium-rich beverage enjoyed on its own or added to cereal and recipes. While refrigeration is essential to prevent spoilage, it's important to note that milk should be stored in the main compartment of the fridge, rather than the door, where temperatures fluctuate more significantly. This ensures that milk maintains its freshness and quality for longer. Yogurt: Probiotic Powerhouse Yogurt is a probiotic powerhouse enjoyed for its creamy texture and tangy flavor. While refrigeration is essential to prevent spoilage, it's important to store yogurt in the main compartment of the fridge, rather than the door, to maintain its optimal temperature and consistency. This ensures that yogurt remains fresh and delicious for longer. Leafy Greens: Nutrient-rich Leafy greens like spinach, kale, and lettuce are nutrient-rich staples in many diets. While refrigeration is essential to prevent wilting and spoilage, it's important to store leafy greens in the crisper drawer of the fridge, where humidity levels can be adjusted to maintain freshness. This ensures that leafy greens remain crisp and vibrant for longer. Fresh Herbs: Flavorful Additions Fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro, and mint add vibrant flavor to dishes. While refrigeration is essential to prevent wilting and spoilage, it's important to store fresh herbs in a glass of water on the refrigerator's shelf, similar to a bouquet of flowers. This ensures that herbs remain fresh and flavorful for longer. Root Vegetables: Nutrient-rich Staples Root vegetables like carrots, beets, and radishes are nutrient-rich staples in many diets. While refrigeration is essential to prevent sprouting and spoilage, it's important to store root vegetables in the crisper drawer of the fridge, where humidity levels can be adjusted to maintain freshness. This ensures that root vegetables remain crisp and flavorful for longer. Should I have a one night stand?

In today's dynamic social landscape, the question of whether to engage in a one-night stand is one that many individuals grapple with. It's a topic fraught with both excitement and uncertainty, with personal desires often conflicting with societal norms and individual values. Before delving into the decision-making process, it's essential to understand what a one-night stand entails and the potential implications it carries. Understanding One-Night Stands What is a One-Night Stand? A one-night stand typically refers to a sexual encounter between two individuals with no expectation of pursuing a long-term relationship or further contact afterward. It is often spontaneous, fueled by attraction and desire in the moment, without the commitment or emotional investment associated with traditional relationships. The Allure of One-Night Stands Exploring Sexual Freedom One of the primary appeals of a one-night stand is the freedom it offers to explore one's sexuality without the constraints of commitment. It allows individuals to satisfy their physical desires without the emotional complexities that can accompany romantic relationships. Adventure and Excitement For some, the thrill of spontaneity and the unknown adds an element of excitement to the experience. The prospect of meeting someone new and indulging in a fleeting connection can be exhilarating and invigorating. Potential Risks and Considerations Emotional Consequences While the idea of a casual encounter may seem appealing on the surface, it's crucial to acknowledge the potential emotional ramifications. Engaging in a one-night stand can leave individuals feeling empty or unfulfilled, particularly if they were seeking more than just physical intimacy. Risk of STIs and Pregnancy Practicing safe sex is paramount, but even with precautions, there is always a risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unplanned pregnancy. Condoms can reduce the risk, but they are not foolproof, underscoring the importance of careful consideration before engaging in sexual activity. Impact on Self-Esteem For some individuals, participating in a one-night stand can lead to feelings of regret or shame afterward, particularly if it conflicts with their personal values or beliefs. It's essential to consider how such an experience may affect one's self-esteem and emotional well-being. Navigating Consent and Communication Clear Communication Open and honest communication is essential in any sexual encounter, including one-night stands. Both parties should clearly express their boundaries, desires, and expectations to ensure a mutually respectful and consensual experience. Respecting Boundaries Respecting the boundaries of others is crucial. If someone expresses hesitation or discomfort, it's important to listen and honor their feelings rather than pressuring them into something they're not comfortable with. The Decision-Making Process Reflecting on Personal Values Before deciding whether to pursue a one-night stand, individuals should reflect on their personal values, desires, and boundaries. What are their motivations for seeking this experience, and how does it align with their long-term goals and aspirations? Assessing Potential Consequences Consideration should also be given to the potential consequences, both positive and negative, of engaging in a one-night stand. Is the temporary pleasure worth the potential risks to physical and emotional well-being? Seeking Support and Guidance If unsure about whether to proceed, seeking guidance from trusted friends, family members, or healthcare professionals can provide valuable perspective and support. Ultimately, the decision to have a one-night stand is a deeply personal one that depends on individual circumstances, values, and desires. While it can offer temporary gratification and excitement, it also carries risks and potential emotional consequences that should not be overlooked. By carefully considering one's motivations, boundaries, and the potential impact on both oneself and others, individuals can make an informed decision that aligns with their values and goals. The sequence of organ failure in MOF can vary depending on the underlying cause and individual patient factors. However, there are certain patterns commonly observed in the progression of this condition. The Sequence of Organ Failure in Multiple Organ Failure 1. Sequential Failure In MOF, organ failure typically occurs in a sequential manner, with certain organs failing before others. This sequence may vary, but there are some general patterns that healthcare providers commonly observe. 2. Respiratory Failure Respiratory failure often manifests as one of the initial signs of MOF. This can occur due to conditions such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pneumonia, or severe sepsis. In MOF, the lungs may fail to oxygenate the blood adequately, leading to hypoxemia and respiratory distress. 3. Cardiovascular Failure Cardiovascular failure may follow respiratory failure in the progression of MOF. This can manifest as shock, where the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body's demands. Causes of cardiovascular failure in MOF may include septic shock, cardiogenic shock, or hypovolemic shock. 4. Renal Failure Renal failure often occurs subsequent to respiratory and cardiovascular failure in MOF. This can manifest as acute kidney injury (AKI) or acute renal failure, where the kidneys are unable to adequately filter waste products and maintain fluid and electrolyte balance. Causes of renal failure in MOF may include hypoperfusion, sepsis, or nephrotoxic medications. 5. Hepatic Failure Hepatic failure may occur concurrently with or following renal failure in MOF. This can manifest as acute liver injury or liver dysfunction, where the liver is unable to perform its vital functions, such as detoxification and synthesis of proteins. Causes of hepatic failure in MOF may include ischemia, sepsis, or hepatotoxic medications. 6. Gastrointestinal Failure Gastrointestinal failure can also occur in MOF, although it may not always be as prominent as other organ failures. This can manifest as intestinal ischemia, paralytic ileus, or gastrointestinal bleeding. Causes of gastrointestinal failure in MOF may include hypoperfusion, sepsis, or bowel obstruction. 7. Neurological Failure Neurological failure may occur as a late manifestation of MOF, particularly in cases where there is severe hypoxemia or metabolic derangements. This can manifest as altered mental status, seizures, or coma. Causes of neurological failure in MOF may include cerebral hypoperfusion, metabolic encephalopathy, or intracranial hemorrhage. 8. Chronology of Organ Failure The chronology of organ failure in MOF can vary depending on the underlying cause, severity of illness, and individual patient factors. However, the sequence described above provides a general framework for understanding the progression of this condition. Multiple organ failure is a complex and life-threatening condition characterized by the sequential failure of two or more organ systems. While the specific sequence of organ failure may vary, there are common patterns observed in the progression of this condition. Understanding the chronology of organ failure in MOF is essential for timely recognition, management, and treatment of this critical condition. Leave Shimla-Manali! Don't get married late, these will be the disadvantages

Marriage is a significant life decision, and the timing of it can impact various aspects of your life. While there's no one-size-fits-all answer to when you should tie the knot, delaying marriage can come with its own set of disadvantages. Let's delve into why you shouldn't postpone marriage and explore the potential downsides. Financial Burdens Delaying marriage can lead to increased financial burdens. As you age, your financial responsibilities often grow. Waiting too long to get married might mean that you're shouldering significant financial obligations, such as paying off student loans, buying a house, or saving for retirement, on your own. Sharing these responsibilities with a spouse can alleviate the financial strain. Difficulty Finding a Partner As you get older, it might become increasingly challenging to find a suitable partner. This can be due to various factors, such as a smaller dating pool, higher expectations, or simply having less time to invest in building a relationship. Consequently, delaying marriage might result in settling for a partner who isn't the best match for you. Biological Clock For those who wish to have children, delaying marriage can pose challenges due to the biological clock. Women, in particular, have a finite window for childbearing, and advancing age can increase the risks of fertility issues and pregnancy complications. Even with advancements in reproductive technology, the optimal time for starting a family is often earlier rather than later. Social Pressure There can be societal pressure to marry within a certain timeframe, especially in cultures where marriage is highly valued. Delaying marriage might subject you to scrutiny or questioning from family, friends, or even strangers, leading to feelings of inadequacy or insecurity about your relationship status. Emotional Health Marriage provides emotional support and companionship, which can contribute to overall well-being. Delaying marriage might mean prolonged periods of loneliness or isolation, particularly if your social circle consists mainly of married friends and family members. This can have negative effects on mental health and happiness. Missed Opportunities Postponing marriage could mean missing out on opportunities for personal growth and development within a committed relationship. Marriage often fosters emotional maturity, compromise, and communication skills, which are valuable for navigating life's challenges. By delaying marriage, you might deprive yourself of these learning experiences. Elderly Care As you age, the need for caregiving might arise for yourself or your aging parents. Being married can provide a built-in support system for managing caregiving responsibilities, whether it's for each other or for elderly relatives. Delaying marriage could leave you without a partner to share these caregiving duties, potentially leading to increased stress and strain. Legal Protections Marriage affords couples certain legal protections and benefits, such as spousal inheritance rights, decision-making authority in medical emergencies, and tax advantages. Delaying marriage means postponing access to these legal protections, which could have implications in various aspects of life, including estate planning and healthcare. Regret In the long run, delaying marriage might lead to feelings of regret or what ifs. Reflecting on missed opportunities or wondering if things could have been different had you married earlier can create emotional turmoil. Regretting not marrying sooner can overshadow the benefits of waiting, making it important to consider the potential consequences carefully. Conclusion While there are valid reasons for delaying marriage, such as focusing on career or personal growth, it's essential to weigh the potential disadvantages. From financial burdens to emotional health and missed opportunities, postponing marriage can have far-reaching consequences. Ultimately, the decision of when to marry is deeply personal and should consider individual circumstances and priorities. Leave Shimla-Manali! 'Cool Summer of India' campaign seeks to boost tourism in lesser-known cities during summer

NEW DELHI: Aiming to attarct more international tourists during summer and at the same time decongest the overcrowded hill stations in the country, the Ministry of Tourism is all set to launch a social media campaignCool Summer of India. With this, the Ministry is seeking to promote the country as an all season tourist destination. The ministry in consultation with the state governments and union territory (UT) administrations has picked about 50 destinations. These destinations will be featured on various digital platforms, the Incredible India portal under the first phase of the campaign. During the promotional exercise, efforts will be made to ensure that more tourists visit the suggested cities during May and June; months during which a large part of the country reels under severe heat waves. The ministry is also said to engage embassies in the social media campaign so that tour operators from major markets are covered. The objective is to challenge the notion that India is hot during summer; not an ideal destination to visit during the season, especially in May and June. The list of destinations to be promoted under the campaign includes many off-beat and lesser known locations and cities where the weather is cool and pleasant while a major part of the country experiences heatwave, said officials. Think India is too hot for #summer fun? Stay tuned for a refreshing revelation! #coolsummersofindia #incredibleindia #myincredibleindia #visitindia #exploreindia #Indiatourism #Indiatravel #India #summergetaway #summervacation #summervacay @tourismgoi @PIBTour @PIB_India pic.twitter.com/s2MhNh8ydd Incredible!ndia (@incredibleindia) May 3, 2024 The campaign will also extensively be showcased at Arabian Travel Market in Dubai starting next week. The ministry has created a micro site of the campaign comprising interactivities, graphics and games through which the users may read about destinations and choose. The destinations to be promoted as part of the campaign have been selected based on an assessment of the state governments and UTs, which are known for their unique cuisines and crafts and have a history behind them. This will help states to divert influx of tourists to other or less-frequented destinations and control tourist flow in regular locations such as Manali, Mussoorie, Nainital and Shimla. The cities come to a halt during summer months because of traffic snarls as tourists from across states and UTs throng the towns, officials added. The campaign will focus on tourist arrivals from countries in middle-east. The campaign will also benefit small and lesser known cities, which have good infrastructure, economically. Even on weekends in many places, occupancy in hotels and guest houses is just 50 percent, said officials.

Plant these plants in the room, you will not feel hot

Are you tired of feeling like you're living in a sauna during the summer months? Do you find yourself constantly battling against the heat, even with the air conditioning on full blast? Well, it might be time to bring some greenery into your space! Transform Your Room into a Cool Oasis With the right selection of plants, you can transform your room into a cool oasis where you can escape the scorching heat outside. Not only do these plants add a touch of natural beauty to your space, but they also act as natural air conditioners, helping to lower the temperature and create a more comfortable environment. How Do Plants Cool the Air? Plants have a remarkable ability to cool the air through a process called transpiration. During transpiration, plants absorb water from the soil through their roots and release it into the air through tiny pores in their leaves called stomata. As this water evaporates, it carries away heat energy, effectively lowering the surrounding air temperature. H3: Best Plants for Cooling Your Room When it comes to selecting plants for cooling purposes, not all plants are created equal. Some species are particularly adept at transpiring large amounts of water and can therefore have a more significant cooling effect. Here are some of the best plants to consider: 1. Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) The snake plant, also known as mother-in-law's tongue, is a popular choice for indoor spaces due to its low maintenance requirements and air-purifying abilities. In addition to filtering out toxins from the air, the snake plant also releases oxygen at night, making it an excellent choice for bedrooms. 2. Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis miller) Not only is aloe vera prized for its soothing gel, but it also has cooling properties that can help lower the temperature in your room. This succulent thrives in bright, indirect light and requires minimal watering, making it a great choice for beginners. 3. Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) The peace lily is not only beautiful to look at, but it also helps to humidify the air and remove toxins such as formaldehyde, benzene, and ammonia. With its lush green foliage and elegant white flowers, the peace lily adds a touch of sophistication to any room. 4. Boston Fern (Nephrolepis exaltata) Boston ferns are renowned for their ability to add a touch of lushness to indoor spaces while also helping to cool the air. These ferns thrive in high humidity environments, so be sure to mist them regularly or place them in a bathroom or kitchen where moisture levels are higher. 5. Areca Palm (Dypsis lutescens) The areca palm, also known as the butterfly palm, is not only a visually striking plant but also an excellent air purifier and humidifier. With its feathery fronds and elegant appearance, the areca palm adds a tropical touch to any room while helping to keep it cool and comfortable. Tips for Maximizing the Cooling Effect While incorporating these plants into your room can certainly help to lower the temperature, there are a few additional tips you can follow to maximize their cooling effect: H3: 1. Group Plants Together Plants release moisture into the air through transpiration more effectively when they are grouped together. Consider creating small clusters of plants in various corners of your room to maximize their cooling effect. H3: 2. Increase Humidity Levels Plants thrive in humid environments, so increasing the humidity levels in your room can help them transpire more effectively. You can achieve this by placing a small bowl of water near your plants or using a humidifier. H3: 3. Provide Adequate Air Circulation Good air circulation is essential for plants to transpire effectively. Make sure there is adequate airflow in your room by opening windows or using fans to keep the air moving. H3: 4. Choose the Right Size Plants While larger plants may have a more significant cooling effect due to their increased transpiration rate, smaller plants can still contribute to lowering the temperature in your room. Choose plants that suit the size of your space and your aesthetic preferences.By incorporating these cooling plants into your room and following a few simple tips, you can create a cool and comfortable oasis where you can escape the summer heat. Not only will these plants help to lower the temperature, but they will also add a touch of natural beauty to your space. So why not bring a little bit of the outdoors inside and enjoy a cooler, more comfortable living environment? Leave Shimla-Manali! Everyone has failed in front of this hidden place of Himachal! By considering various aspects such as colors, themes, organization, and functionality, you can transform a simple room into a magical haven where your child can thrive and feel truly special. 1. Choose a Theme that Sparks Imagination Why: A cohesive theme sets the tone for the entire room and provides a canvas for other design elements to come together harmoniously. How: Consider your child's interests, whether it's outer space, dinosaurs, princesses, or superheroes. Choose a theme that resonates with them and inspires their imagination. 2. Incorporate Vibrant Colors Why: Bright and cheerful colors can stimulate a child's senses and contribute to a lively atmosphere. How: Opt for a color scheme that complements the chosen theme while avoiding overwhelming the space. Use colorful accents such as bedding, rugs, and wall art to add pops of color throughout the room. 3. Prioritize Safety Why: Safety should always be a top priority when decorating a child's room to prevent accidents and injuries. How: Ensure that furniture is securely anchored to the wall to prevent tipping. Choose child-safe materials for furnishings and decorations, avoiding sharp edges and small parts that could pose choking hazards. 4. Create Functional Zones Why: A well-organized room with designated zones for sleeping, playing, and studying promotes efficiency and encourages independence. How: Arrange furniture to delineate different areas of the room, such as a cozy reading nook with a bean bag chair, a play corner with toy storage bins, and a study area with a desk and chair. 5. Personalize with Personal Touches Why: Adding personalized touches makes the room feel uniquely theirs and fosters a sense of ownership and belonging. How: Display your child's artwork, photographs, and crafts to showcase their creativity. Incorporate items that reflect their interests and personality, such as favorite books, sports memorabilia, or musical instruments. 6. Maximize Storage Solutions Why: Adequate storage helps keep the room organized and clutter-free, making it easier for children to find and put away their belongings. How: Utilize a combination of open shelving, bins, baskets, and closet organizers to store toys, clothes, books, and other essentials. Consider multifunctional furniture with built-in storage, such as beds with drawers underneath or ottomans that double as toy chests. 7. Create a Cozy Retreat for Sleep Why: A comfortable and soothing sleep environment is essential for a child's physical and emotional well-being. How: Choose a quality mattress and bedding that provide adequate support and comfort. Use blackout curtains or blinds to block out light and create a conducive sleep environment. Incorporate soft lighting, such as a nightlight or bedside lamp, for a calming ambiance. 8. Encourage Creativity and Play Why: Play is crucial for a child's cognitive, emotional, and social development, and the room should be designed to inspire creativity and exploration. How: Include ample space for imaginative play, such as a dress-up area, puppet theater, or building block station. Provide art supplies, easels, and a designated art corner where your child can unleash their creativity without worrying about making a mess. 9. Embrace Flexibility for Growth Why: Children's interests and preferences evolve over time, and a flexible room design allows for easy updates and adaptations as they grow. How: Choose versatile furniture and decor items that can be repurposed or easily swapped out to accommodate changing tastes and needs. Consider investing in modular furniture or adjustable shelving systems that can adapt to different configurations. 10. Foster a Sense of Wonder Why: Above all, the goal of decorating a children's room is to create a space that sparks joy, wonder, and a sense of magic. How: Incorporate elements of whimsy and imagination, such as fairy lights, themed wall decals, or a ceiling adorned with glow-in-the-dark stars. Encourage storytelling and make-believe adventures to ignite your child's imagination and make their room truly special. It's about creating a nurturing and inspiring environment where your child can grow, learn, and dream. If you take painkillers immediately for pain, it will cause harm

When it comes to managing pain, the instinct to reach for painkillers immediately might seem like the obvious choice for relief. However, recent studies and medical experts warn against this knee-jerk reaction, suggesting that immediate painkiller use could actually do more harm than good. Let's delve into why this is the case and explore alternative approaches to pain management. Understanding Immediate Painkiller Use Immediate painkiller use refers to the practice of taking pain-relieving medications at the onset of discomfort or pain. This could include over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or aspirin, as well as prescription drugs like opioids. The Temptation of Quick Relief When faced with pain, whether it's a headache, muscle ache, or any other form of discomfort, the desire for quick relief is understandable. Pain can be disruptive, affecting our ability to focus, work, or simply enjoy life. As a result, many individuals turn to painkillers as a rapid solution to alleviate their symptoms. Potential Harm of Immediate Use While painkillers can provide effective relief when used appropriately, their immediate use may pose several risks and drawbacks: Masking Underlying Issues One of the primary concerns with immediate painkiller use is that it may mask underlying health issues or injuries. Pain serves as a signal from the body, indicating that something is wrong. By suppressing pain with medication, individuals may inadvertently ignore important warning signs that warrant medical attention. Dependency and Tolerance Regular, immediate use of painkillers can lead to dependency and tolerance, where higher doses are needed to achieve the same level of relief. This can set off a dangerous cycle of escalating medication use, increasing the risk of addiction and adverse side effects. Gastrointestinal Complications Certain painkillers, particularly nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen, can cause gastrointestinal complications when taken frequently or in high doses. These may include stomach ulcers, bleeding, and other digestive issues that can be severe and even life-threatening. Liver and Kidney Damage Acetaminophen, commonly found in medications like Tylenol, can cause liver damage when taken in excess or over a prolonged period. Similarly, some painkillers can put strain on the kidneys, leading to kidney damage or failure, especially in individuals with pre-existing renal conditions. Safer Alternatives for Pain Management Given the potential risks associated with immediate painkiller use, it's essential to explore safer alternatives for managing pain: Physical Therapy and Exercise For musculoskeletal pain or injuries, physical therapy and targeted exercises can help alleviate discomfort, improve mobility, and address underlying issues contributing to the pain. Heat and Cold Therapy Applying heat packs or cold compresses to the affected area can provide effective relief for certain types of pain, such as muscle strains or joint inflammation, without the need for medication. Mind-Body Techniques Practices like yoga, meditation, and deep breathing exercises can help reduce stress, promote relaxation, and alleviate pain by modulating the body's response to discomfort. Nutritional and Herbal Remedies Certain dietary supplements and herbal remedies, such as turmeric, ginger, and omega-3 fatty acids, have anti-inflammatory properties that may help manage pain naturally. Consultation with Healthcare Professionals Above all, it's crucial to consult with healthcare professionals before resorting to painkillers or any other form of treatment. A thorough evaluation by a qualified medical provider can help identify the underlying cause of pain and determine the most appropriate course of action for managing it safely and effectively. While the allure of immediate pain relief through medication may be strong, it's important to approach pain management with caution and consideration for the potential risks involved. By exploring alternative strategies and seeking guidance from healthcare professionals, individuals can address pain in a manner that prioritizes long-term well-being and avoids unnecessary harm. Opposition blames EVMs for its defeat, says Anurag Thakur

Opposition blames EVMs for its defeat, says Anurag Thakur Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court's decision regarding EVMs. We welcome the decision of the Supreme Court. The opposition tried to spread confusion and blame EVMs for its defeat but now the Supreme Court has made it clear and has rejected the petition, he said. Slamming the INDI alliance, he said, My request to the opposition is that if they want to fight elections, then fight on issues, fight on ideology. We are working to take India forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Service, good governance and welfare of the poor are the identities of the Modi government. On the other hand, they must have changed the name from UPA to INDI alliance but the face and thinking are the same. The public is not ready to accept them, he added. Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, he said, If he is getting defeated in Wayanad then he must try to fight from any other seat. If he is taking support from the banned organisations like SDPI and PFI then, it in itself raises a question that just to win elections he has demeaned himself to such a level. Earlier, Thakur expressed his enthusiasm and encouragement for voters amid the Lok Sabha elections, urging them to come out in large numbers despite the extreme heat. Notably, Himachal Pradesh has four Lok Sabha seats: Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, and Kangra. The BJP had won all four seats in 2019. The elections to the four Lok Sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh and by-polls to the six assembly constituencies that fell vacant with the disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs will be held on June 1. Voting for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 began at 7 am on Friday across 88 Parliamentary Constituencies spread over 12 States and Union Territories. (ANI)

Religious Tourism spots like Varanasi and Ayodhya may soon outshine Goa and Agra

Religious Tourism spots like Varanasi and Ayodhya may soon outshine Goa and Agra By Nikhil Dedha Recent data shows that post COVID religious inclinations of Indians have become stronger resulting in an accelerated momentum towards religious tourism. According to the Ministry of Tourism data, last year 8.5 crores of tourists visited Varanasi(Kashi), around 4.5 crore people visited Prayagraj and more than 1.5 crores of people have visited Ayodhya Ram temple since the consecration ceremony. Many experts feel Varanasi will outdo Goa, Agra, and Shimla. During the COVID period when the temples were closed down, our Prime Minister thought let's make the temples a place where everybody would like to visit. So we came up with the idea of having the Kashi Vishwanath corridor. It has changed the entire tourism scenario of the state and in year 2023 we had more than 10 crore tourists said Preeti Srivastava, Deputy Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh to ANI. Government of Uttar Pradesh is promoting the new golden triangle of Prayagraj, Kashi and Ayodhaya as a golden triangle of religious tourism. Now everybody is benefiting. Even the small washerman, he's also getting business because he's washing the linen of the hotels. The vegetable seller, everybody is benefiting. The rickshaw pullers, the flower sellers and local Prasad shops. Now the new golden triangle is coming up that is Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Varanasi said Preeti. The transformative impact of projects like the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, has revitalized Varanasi's tourism sector, leading to a substantial increase in tourist footfall and allied economic activities. The surge in tourism has not only boosted local businesses but also generated substantial revenue for the state. As per the data by the Ministry of Tourism 1,439 million people participated in religious tourism in India during 2022, it is more than double from 677 million in 2021. In 2022, religious tourism destinations earned Rs1.34 lakh crore in revenue, up from Rs65,070 crore in 2021. In 2022, Varanasi had 82 million visitors, which is almost four times the number of visitors in 2019. This number accounted for almost 26% of all arrivals in 2022, compared to less than 4 per cent in 2019. Varanasi's tourist footfall has surpassed Agra, which is home to the Taj Mahal, and has made it the most visited city in Uttar Pradesh. PM Narendra Modi also mentioned in his address on the 103rd episode of radio program 'Mann Ki Baat' that Now more than 10 crore tourists are reaching Kashi every year. The number of devotees visiting pilgrimages like Ayodhya, Mathura, Ujjain is also increasing rapidly. Due to this lakhs of poor are getting employment. According to the industry experts the religious tourism sector is expected to generate a revenue of Rs 59 billion by 2028 and create 140 million temporary and permanent jobs by 2030. Under central government's Swadesh Darshan Scheme, an outlay of Rs 5294 crore has been allocated for the development of theme-based tourist circuits. A total of 76 projects have been sanctioned under the project which covers popular religious destinations across different states of India. These includes Buddhist circuit, Ramayana circuit and Krishna circuit. The Ministry of tourism has also started the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) scheme to improve the religious tourism experience by identifying and developing pilgrimage sites across India.(ANI)
