Researchers from Washington University Institute and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) have studied the impact of 20 major diseases in the world on men and women. According to him, there is a lot of difference between men and women all over the world in terms of health. According to researchers, men are more affected by heart disease, respiratory infections, and corona disease. Whereas women have more problems like headaches, backache, and mental health. Experts have stressed the urgent need for action to improve women's health. This study has been published in the Lancet Public Health journal. The health gap between men and women increases with age, causing women to suffer from diseases throughout their lives. Women are more affected in South Asian countries Research has shown that women are more affected by problems in South Asian countries, including India, China etc. The rate of women being affected in this area is more than 50 percent. Mental health conditions disproportionately impact women around the world. At the same time, progress in health strategies for men has been slow. However, only a few countries like Australia, Ireland, Iran, Brazil, Malaysia, Mongolia South Africa, etc. have national-level policies on health for men. Study of diseases between 1990 and 2021 In this research, 20 major diseases have been studied between 1990 and 2021. Research claims: Men are more at risk of fatal and serious diseases than women, be alert

Over the last four years, there has been a significant surge in deaths due to COVID-19, heart disease, and cancer across the world. In a related study published in The Lancet Journal, researchers have warned that globally the burden of these diseases is higher in men than in women. Not only this, the mortality rate of men due to these diseases is also increasing. Presenting the figures for the year 2021, researchers said that out of the 20 diseases considered fatal at the top level, men are becoming more victims of more than 13 diseases. In this study conducted during the coronavirus pandemic, scientists found that men are not only more prone to diseases but their life expectancy is also decreasing with time. Covid-19 was described as the most challenging health condition in the year 2021. Men experienced 45 percent more health loss from COVID-19 than women. But let us understand what is the reason for the increase in health risks in men and how these diseases affect the health of women. Risk of 13 out of top 20 diseases in men The new analysis estimates that men will be more affected by 13 of the top 20 diseases in 2021, Lancet experts said. These diseases mainly include coronavirus infection and the health complications caused by it, heart, respiratory, and liver-related diseases. In contrast, globally, women experienced more musculoskeletal problems (such as bone-muscle-related diseases), mental health problems, and non-life-threatening disorders (less life-threatening) such as headaches. What do experts say? Data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 was used for this modeling research. In this, the data of victims of 20 major diseases and deaths due to them between 1990 and 2021 was studied. It also looked at data on age-adjusted life years (DALYs) and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs). Women saw higher levels of disease and disability because they live longer than men, says Dr. Luisa Sorio Flor, senior author of the data study at the University of Washington. Diseases occurring in men and women Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, although studies have also found significant differences by gender. Large differences in health impairment between men and women have also been reported in ischemic heart disease. Men suffered more health loss due to heart disease than women. Problems of Alzheimer's-dementia, anxiety depression, arthritis, and bone-muscle-related pain are being seen more in women. What are the reasons for increasing disease and mortality in men? In the conclusion of the study, researchers said that lifestyle-related conditions have been considered the main reason for men becoming victims of diseases and increasing mortality. Smoking, stress, a sedentary lifestyle, and alcohol consumption make them more susceptible to these diseases. At the same time, after menopause, the risk of heart disease and other health problems increases significantly in women. Hormonal changes occurring in the body are a major risk factor for serious diseases in women after a certain age. (PC: Freepik)

Call the hotel desk for a discount If you want to stay at a hotel of your choice, you can call their helpdesk and ask about discounts or deals. In this way perhaps you can get information about more offers. In this way, not only will the hotel staff prepare a special package for you, but you can also get many discounts. Apart from this, by talking on call, the staff can also talk to you about providing facilities like checkout, breakfast, and WiFi, which you will not get at all in online booking. Pay attention to safety Do not trust yourself or your belongings to anyone during your hotel stay. In such a situation, check everything in the room carefully. Also, make sure that there is no secret camera kept in the room and bathroom. Get booking done away from the city If you book a hotel in the main city, you will have to pay more money there. Whereas if you book rooms 2-3 kilometers away, you can get rooms for less money. You can find hotels on the internet located in areas 2-3 km away from the main city. After this, you can book rooms thereby calling the hotel or online mode. Nonprime location rooms The room rent varies depending on the location of the hotel where you want to book a room. For example, if there is a river, waterfall, or mountain in front of your window, then its rent will be higher than other rooms. In such a situation, if you want to get a room as per your budget, then choose a room that is away from the prime location. By booking such a room you will have to pay less money. Use hotel booking apps While booking a hotel online, booking a room directly through the hotel's website may prove costly. Therefore, book the hotel only through an app. In such a situation, the price of the hotel becomes much cheaper by getting many coupon codes and deals on the app. People get many discounts by booking hotels through apps also. Apps are most useful when you have to book a room at the last minute. Better to book on weekdays Become expensive. The reason for this is that due to the holiday, nearby people also go out to celebrate the holiday with their families or alone, due to which the rush in hotels increases. When supply is less than demand, hoteliers increase their rates. In such a situation, it would be better if you book a hotel room on weekdays instead of weekends. With this, you will be able to book a better room for less money. Also, you will not have to face unnecessary noise and interference. (PC: Lifeberrys)

Top US Treasury official to travel to Singapore, Malaysia to discuss sanctions

Top US Treasury official to travel to Singapore, Malaysia to discuss sanctions The U.S. Treasury Department's top sanctions official will travel to Singapore and Malaysia next week, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters, as Washington seeks to combat funding for Iran and its proxy groups as well as evasion of its sanctions on Russia. The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said there has been an uptick in money moving to Iran and its proxies, including Hamas, through the Malaysian financial system. During the visit, first reported by Reuters, Treasury's under secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, Brian Nelson, is expected to discuss U.S. concerns and the sanctions risk such activity poses, the source said. Treasury's general counsel, Neil MacBride, will also be on the trip. The visit comes as Treasury has increased its focus on terrorist financing through Southeast Asia, including through fundraising efforts and illicit Iranian oil sales, the source said. The Treasury Department in December imposed sanctions on four Malaysia-based companies it accused of being fronts supporting Iran's production of drones. Washington has recently imposed further sanctions targeting Iran, including over Iranian drones used by Russian in the war in Ukraine, as the U.S. has sought to ratchet up pressure on Tehran after its attack on Israel. While in Singapore, Nelson will discuss the enforcement of a G7-led price cap on Russian oil as well as cutting off the transshipment of critical dual-use goods, those which have both civilian and military purposes, said the source. The United States and its allies have imposed sanctions on thousands of targets since Russia invaded neighboring Ukraine. The war has seen tens of thousands killed and cities destroyed. Washington has since sought to crack down on evasion of the Western measures, including the shipment of dual-use goods through third countries to Russia. Singapore is a major shipping hub. Insurance and other maritime service providers operating in Singapore have warned of evasion of the price cap on Russian oil, complaining that it is difficult to confirm that paperwork promising oil is bought at or below the $60 cap is accurate. The G7 price cap on Russian crude oil, imposed in December 2022, aims to reduce Russia's revenues available for its war in Ukraine by allowing Western-supplied insurance and other services only on cargoes priced below $60 a barrel.
