Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) police on Friday arrested VBJ Capstone Builders Pvt Ltd owners Kandula Venkata Prasad Gupta and his wife Anuradha for cheating a customer in a real estate deal. The police were acting on a complaint from Mopidevi Mahalakshmi of Lakeview Residency, Sainikpuri, alleging that VBJ Capstone Builders sold a plot at a lower price at Laxmi Nagar Colony Welfare Society in Kapra village but gave her fabricated ownership papers. The accused collected Rs.12.35 crore from the victim since 2019. During investigation, police found that the couple had collected money from more than 15 victims.

SRH beat Rajasthan Royals by just one run

Sunrisers Hyderabad snatched victory from the jaws of Rajasthan Royals on Thursday, winning by just one run. At the brink of defeat, SRH secured the victory on the very last ball, handing the table-toppers their second defeat in the tournament.The victory came on the last ball of the match, when Bhuvneshwar Kumar trapped Rovman Powell in front of the stumps, denying the Royals the one run needed to draw the match.Earlier, skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat against Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Hyderabad on Thursday.The Hyderabad team posted a formidable score of 201, thanks to Travis Head's 58, Nitish Kumar Reddy's unbeaten 76, and Heinrich Klaasen's unbeaten 42.The RR team got off to a bad start with Jos Buttler falling for a duck. Sanju Samson also couldn't open his account. However, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal's 67 off 40 balls and Riyan Parag's 77 off 49 balls brought the Royals very close to the target. Rovman Powell's 27 off 15 balls almost ensured another victory for the Royals.

Coal India posts 26% rise in profit on higher supplies

Coal behemoth CIL on Thursday reported a 26.2 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 8,682.20 crore for the March quarter on the back higher supplies of the dry fuel. The company's consolidated net profit stood at Rs 6,875.07 crore in the year-ago period, Coal India Ltd (CIL) said in a regulatory filing. Its consolidated income in the January-March period declined to Rs 39,654.50 crore from Rs 40,371.51 crore a year ago.
