An investigation led by a Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigative Team (SIT) has exposed a staggering scandal involving contaminated ghee provided to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. For half a decade, about 60 lakh kg of counterfeit ghee, worth 250 crore, was used in the preparation of laddus.
