Plea in SC seeks 3-month extension of SIR in UP

The Bharatiya Kisan Union Azad Trust has approached the Supreme Court seeking a three-month extension of the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls underway in Uttar Pradesh. The petition says the four-week window for revising the rolls is administratively impossible for more than 15.35 crore voters and could lead to widespread deletions, especially in rural areas.
